Zoning Board of Appeals

The City of Grand Haven Zoning Board of Appeals has scheduled Public Hearings to gather citizen input on the following requests:
Case 23-08: A request by Gary Proos for a retroactive variance related to patio addition at 20060 Breton St. (parcel #70-03-19-479-015): a variance from Sec. 40-306.05.A.2 to allow a covered patio to remain at a distance of 19 feet 3 inches from the corner front lot line. A covered patio cannot encroach into the corner front yard, which is 30 feet in the North Shore District.
Case 23-10: A request by Jeffrey Parker for a variance for a new building located at 805 S. Beacon Blvd. (parcel #70-03-28-155-019): a variance from Sec. 40-414.02.D to allow ground floor building transparency of 29%, where the minimum approved ground floor building transparency is 40% for the proposed building.
The Public Hearings are scheduled for Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at 7:00 pm in the City of Grand Haven Council Chambers, 519 Washington Avenue, Grand Haven, MI 49417. The meeting packet will be posted on the City website by the Friday prior to the hearings https://www.grandhaven.org/city-services/agendas/. Individuals may express their opinions in person at the public hearing, or written comments may be addressed to Brian Urquhart, Grand Haven Zoning Board of Appeals, 519 Washington Avenue, Grand Haven, MI 49417. To be considered at the public hearing, written and emailed comments must be received by 12:00PM, Wednesday, October 25, 2023.
