ZBA *PUBLIC HEARING*

On March 23, 2021, the Ottawa County Board of Commissioners extended their county Emergency Declaration through May 25, 2021, at 5:00 p.m., which gives local units of government the ability to conduct public meetings through remote access technology, including conference calling, real-time streaming, or other platforms.Please take notice that an electronic Zoning Board of Appeals meeting has been scheduled for Wednesday, May 19, 2021, at 7:00 p.m. The meeting is being held remotely due to the COVID-19 emergency. THE CITY HALL BUILDING IS CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC. Please see the procedures below for public participation. This meeting can be viewed live on the City Facebook Page (equipped with closed captioning). Individuals will have two opportunities to participate in the Call to the Audience in real-time during the meeting:
Prior to the virtual meeting, residents can electronically submit comments or questions to the staff liaison, Jennifer Howland, via email jhowland@grandhaven.org. Electronic submissions must contain the individual’s name and address. Similarly, residents can submit a comment on the Facebook Live stream of the meeting. The virtual meeting will be streamed live per usual practice at the City of Grand Haven’s Facebook Page. Staff will be collecting comments and reading them during the Call to the Audience. In order to be considered, individuals must include their name and address. If your comment is submitted after the first Call to the Audience, it will be read aloud towards the end of the meeting during the second and final Call to the Audience. One final opportunity to participate in real-time will be via phone. When the Zoning Board of Appeals reaches the Call to the Audience portion of the meeting, residents will have the opportunity to dial in at 616-843-7528. Callers must give their name
and address, are limited to three minutes and should speak very clearly in order to be heard by all participants and viewers. If several calls are received at once, the phone will have a busy tone. Please be patient and hang up and call back. Staff will answer all calls. The meeting agenda will be available on the City’s Website at: https://www.grandhaven.org/city-services/agendas/. Please take notice that an electronic Zoning Board of Appeals meeting has been scheduled for Wednesday, May 19, 2021, at 7:00 p.m. to gather citizen input on the following requests:
Case 21-05: A request by Peter Wilson for two variances related to a proposed 8-foot lot line adjustment between 1320 Washington Ave (parcel #70-03-21-480-005) and 1322 Washington Ave (parcel #70-03-21-480-006): 1) a variance from Sec. 40-409.02.C to allow for a lot width of 36 feet at 1320 Washington Ave (currently 44 feet) and a lot width of 30 feet at 1322 Washington Ave (currently 22 feet) where 44 feet is the district minimum; and 2) a variance from Sec. 40-409.02.C to allow for a lot area of 4,460 sq. ft. (currently 5,452 sq. ft.) at 1320 Washington and 3,717 sq. ft. ( currently 2,726 sq. ft.) at 1322 Washington Ave where 5,800 sq. ft. is the district minimum.

Case 21-06: A request by Dennis Dryer of Dryer Architectural Group on behalf of property owner Crescent Building LLC for one variance related to a proposed 130 sq. ft. building addition at 1103 Washington Ave (parcel #70-03-21-453-013): a variance from Sec. 40-411.02.C to allow for a lot coverage of 96.9 percent (currently 94.9 percent) where 70 percent is the district maximum.

CITY HALL WILL BE CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC DURING THE MEETING.
