Boater Safety Course

Deputies from the Ottawa County Sheriff Marine Patrol will be teaching this one-day class that will end with a certification for all students.

Who needs to take boater safety?

Any motorized boat operator born after June 30, 1996, is required by law to pass a boater safety course and to carry a boater education card. In addition, boater education is also required for all PWC operators born after December 31, 1978.

This class is open to ages 8+, students under 12 need to be accompanied by an adult. If the adult is not attending to receive their certificate, they do not need to register.
