Water Damage Due to Recent Rains

Rain on May 17 and 18 raised already high water levels, causing basement and below grade flooding for many
Grand Haven homes and businesses.

A state of emergency was declared for Ottawa County. Ottawa County Emergency Management is conducting
damage assessment in conjunction with local agencies to determine the scope of damage throughout the county.

If your property suffered water damage due to the recent rains, please complete the damage report form at the link below.
You will be contacted in advance if a damage assessment team is assigned to visit your property. The damage assessment
is voluntary and the information is used to determine if Ottawa County is eligible for state assistance.

Sand Bags

Sand bags are available at the department.

If you need sang bags for your home, a department member will assist in determining need, levee construction, and placement.
Sand bags can be picked up at GHDPS and Grand Haven Department of Public Works will deliver sand to your home.
