The staff in this service area continues their efforts to improve efficiency and reliability while decreasing operation and maintenance time by converting old hydraulic sprinkling systems to electronically controlled systems with built in timers. They look for environmentally friendly, cost effective ways to maintain the beauty of our parks and green spaces. Their 10-point checklist, used to minimize the number of mature trees that are removed in the City’s right-of-ways, is designed to facilitate a consistent approach to determining when a tree can be trimmed or when it is truly in need of removal.
